As women, we are constantly looking for new ways to look beautiful. Whether it is to impress our man, or heck, impress ourselves! We love to know what’s trending, and become curious if the procedure that works on Kylie Jenner will actually work on us. So let’s talk LASHES! Lashes are a HUGE part of my personal beauty routine, and I have received lash extensions myself which I am thankful last me a long time and I have never had any serious eye issues with them (knock on wood)! But for those of you who may be skeptical about extensions, I offer you an alternative: Keratin Lash Lift and Tint.

It’s a semi-permanent treatment that enhances your natural lashes, making them appear fuller and longer. Keratin serum is applied, and washed off–no extensions or perms necessary. You’ll get curl and volume and there will be no need for mascara or false lashes for 6-8 weeks.

Like all beauty procedures, it MUST be too good to be true right? Well, no. Clients of mine have received immaculate results from the keratin lash lift and tint procedure versus spending an arm and a leg on a trustworthy lash extension specialist. Here are a few things to consider when trying to reach a decision between lash lift or lash extensions:

  1. Cost- Here in South Florida, Keratin Lash Lift/Tint ranges from $99-$150. Lash extensions will run anywhere from $199-$300.
  2. Up-keep- There is no permanent upkeep by doing a keratin lash lift/tint, as it is YOUR lashes that are being plumped and curled, so if you choose not to go back for a 2nd treatment after 2 months, it won’t hurt you. Lash extensions, on the other hand, will cost about $150 for a fill, which needs to be done every 3 weeks.
  3. Time- You will definitely be spending more time in the chair when you go to get your extensions. Lash extensions will make you have your eyes sewn shut for approximately 1-2 hours. A lash lift/tint will take 30-45 minutes.
  4. Health- Most of you have already heard of the horrible eye infections that come of women doing lash extensions. The fact of the matter is, we are all built differently and we do not know how exactly we will react to any procedure unless we just do it. YOLO right? On a serious note, yes, with lash extensions you are taking a risk due to the glue and chemicals stuck to your eye, and your constant need to reproduce your own natural lashes. It’s scary but it depends on who you go to! So do your research and take your time shopping around; you can’t just trust a good face-price!

So, what will YOUR vote be? Dramatic lash extensions, or, a natural lift and tint?
