Alicia Shapira’s scar lightening treatment is well sought after, all around the US. And we took some time to go over some commonly asked questions.

Q: What do you use to lighten the scars?

A: “I use a special formula that I mixed together,” says Alicia. This special blend includes around 3 different FDA approved vitamins per mixture. And she has 3 different mixtures that she will use, depending on the type of scar she is treating.

Q: Is this the same as microneedling?

A: No! This is not the same as microneedling. The scar lightening treatment uses a tattoo machine and tattoo needle, which are very small needles, to deposit the vitamins into the skin. whereas a microneedling treatment uses much larger needles.

Q: How long does the treatment take?

A: Treatment takes about 1-2 hours, depending on the type of scar you have.

Q: How many treatments do you need?

A: You would need anywhere from 1 to 3 treatments in total, depending each individual.  “Some people only need one, and some people will need the three,” says Shapira.

Q: How long until you can see the results?

A: The results will appear within 45-60 days after the treatment. Some people will see results within 20 days, but we recommend 45-60 days until you come back for another treatment.

Q: How soon after a surgery can I be treated?

A: Scars must be 1 year old.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: $300 – $800

Q: What color scars can be treated?

Dark scars, dark red, dark brown, dark grey

Q: Do you teach scar lightening also?

A: Yes! It’s a very popular treatment to learn with my students.
