Alicia In The News: Tap Into Coral Springs “Coral Springs Beauty Influencer: “I Just Want To Help People Feel Happy””

This week Alicia Shapira was interviewed and featured on Tap Into Coral Springs, by Leon Fooksman! Take a look below to read the full story, or visit here to see the original piece.

CORAL SPRINGS, FL – As Alicia Shapira tells it, magazine models, reality TV show celebrities, and other glamour queens trickle in and out of her beauty salon in a not-so-fashionable retail strip in Coral Springs. They come for her lash-lifts-and-tips, hair simulations, and a slew of other makeup and body services, but also to be part of Shapira’s growing fashionista stratosphere. Coral Springs is no South Beach or Wynwood when it comes to social media influencers, but Shapira and her New Image Beauty Bar on Wiles Road stand out for their presence on Instagram and TikTok, where she’s gotten more than 250,000 likes. “I treat my clients like family,” said Shapira, 42, who grew up in Coral Springs and now lives with her husband and two-year-old son in Parkland. Her path to running a salon is a story of changing professions, re-inventing herself after a catastrophic accident, and following a childhood love of glamour and art. Shapira is a fast-talking businesswoman who is in constant motion. As her brand has grown, she’s no longer just applying makeup and getting women ready for big occasions in their lives. Shapira is also making a name for herself as an educator in the beauty services industry and in the world of microblading, permanent makeup, and a procedure called Brazilian Stretch Mark Camouflage, which uses pigment to hide stretch marks. She said her treatment is drawing clients from all parts of the world. Her salon offers free re-pigmentation and permanent eyebrows services to cancer survivors, she said. “It’s amazing to see how people react after our procedures,” she said last week, pausing to instruct her staff member on a client appointment. “They are so happy.” She found her calling in life after ending a short career as a speech therapist and before that a financial manager. She grew up attending Ramblewood Middle School and J.P. Taravella High School, and remembers, as a teenager, enjoying applying makeup on friends and being intrigued with the beauty and fashion industries. But her vision crystallized following a fall in a store when she was 30 and newly married. Her injuries required hospitalization, surgeries, and intensive physical therapy. She was in a wheelchair. “I thought my life was over. I thought I’d never walk again,” she said. “I did a lot of thinking and I changed my life and did something more fulfilling.” Eventually, she got better, put her energy into opening New Image Beauty Bar, and used her marketing talents to grow the business and catch the attention of the right clients. Shapira envisions opening another salon in Miami early next year and continuing to travel across the nation and to other countries to train others in beauty services. “My life has gone in such a good direction,” she said. “I just want to help people feel happy.”   Be sure to check out More on Tap Into Coral Springs.   Contact Alicia Shapira for more information: (954) 774-5087 alicia.newimagebeautybar@gmail.com 7401 Wiles Rd. Scar Lightening Treatment

Our Scar Lightening treatment is an amazing procedure that uses FDA approved vitamins to lighten dark colored scars.  We commonly have patients with post surgery scarring or dark stretch marks that they are looking to disguise, and the results are amazing! This lightening treatment also creates the perfect canvas for our Brazilian Stretch Mark Camouflage procedure, that completely conceals the area, to match your exact skin tone. Camouflage can only be used on areas that are lighter than your skin tone, which is why our lightening treatment is the first step for those with dark colored scars or stretch marks.   It's important to note, this procedure is using our own mix of FDA approved vitamins that have been tested over the years, to determine the perfect amount for optimal results. For those wanting this exact procedure with our results, you must visit us or one of our trained students who has the same treatment as us. Hyperpigmented, or dark colored, scars can be very difficult to work with and can take a lot of time and patience, this treatment can take anywhere from 1 to 6 treatments in total. The lightening treatment takes around 2 months to completely heal. During the healing process the scar will turn red and may even scab up, it's important to note, the area may look worse before it gets better. After 60 days the final results will show, this is when you are expected to return for a follow up to see if you will require more lightening treatments. As noted before, patience is key in this lightening procedure as it may take months and a series of treatments before the area is fully lightened.   Watch Our YouTube video where Alicia treats Kathy Picos breast augmentation scars with our lightening treatment. This is her second session and the 3rd will be a 3D Areola Repigmentation treatment, to create the perfect areolas.

5 Reasons Why You Should Start a Career in Permanent Makeup

The beauty industry is one of the fastest-growing industries out there, as everyone is searching for a way to stay young and look young forever. The beauty industry is projected to be an $805 Billion industry by 2023. That means now is the best time to look for a career in the beauty industry. But where to start? Some beauty jobs require years of schooling and with little income at the end of it all.   So what is the perfect job career for you to get in the beauty industry? Permanent makeup! There are so many different options of training and procedures when it comes to permanent makeup and you can receive enough knowledge, training, and certifications in only a few months to get you started on your own. So we went to Alicia Shapira, of New Image Beauty Bar, a very popular permanent makeup artist and teacher in South Florida, to give us some reasons why a job in the permanent makeup industry is a good choice. Here is what Shapira had to say:
  1. People Love It!
So many people are resorting to permanent makeup nowadays, simply because it saves them so much time! And with plastic surgery becoming more popular every year, permanent makeup can also cater to those after reconstructive surgery. Especially of the face or breasts, permanent makeup can help return the skin's appearance to normal if pigment was lost during surgery. Making this field a very popular one.
  1. It’s a Rewarding Job
Permanent Makeup can really change a person’s life. Some people have been struggling with insecurities their whole life, whether it be a dark scar post surgery, stretch marks from growth spurts or even having misshapen eyebrows. In this field you have the power to restore someone's confidence, and that is the most rewarding feeling ever! “A person’s life can be transformed with a simple microblading procedure, permanent lip and eye liner, areola tattooing, Brazilian Camouflage,” says Alicia Shapira.
  1. Great Financial Benefits
The financial benefits of becoming a makeup artist can be great! Below is a chart that displays the amount of money you can make per year depending on the number of procedures you do, weekly. A permanent makeup artist can decide whichever path to take whether it be working for a medical practice, medi-spa, salon, tattoo shop, or becoming a free-standing entity. By making this your career you can decide whatever path you would like to take and ultimately reap the financial benefits! “Many of my students from New Image Beauty Bar are making six-figures a year!” says Shapira.
  1. Growing Industry
The field of Permanent Cosmetics is an exciting and growing industry. The beauty industry is projected to be an $805 Billion industry by 2023.  Electrologists, estheticians, nurses, tattoo artists, cosmetologists and physicians are among the diverse group who have added this specialty to their portfolio of services. And this industry is only growing.
  1. You Can Make Amazing Connections
Shapira says, “The amount of people I have met is pretty incredible. There are always new challenges with each client, but worth all of them, learning to adapt to others styles that people want even if you don't like it, is pretty cool because once you earn their trust as an artist they end up trusting you to do what you think is best for them!”   So if you’re still looking for a new job field to get started in, why not give permanent makeup a try? The financial benefits are amazing, you can get that rewarding feeling from changing someone's life, and you are able to create your own hours and work for yourself! Be sure to find a great teacher like Alicia Shapira, of New Image Beauty Bar, to lead you through the way! Thanks again for Shapira’s insight and tips! What Happens If You Tan After Brazilian Stretch Mark Camouflage?

One of the most frequently asked questions we receive when talking about Brazilian Stretch Mark Camouflage is, what happens if my skin gets tan after my treatment?

Of course, this is an expected question, because the color used to camouflage your stretch marks is technically a permanent color. So does that mean the color will stay the same if the rest of you tans, or will they also tan with your skin now?

So here is the answer. We create a custom color to match your natural skin color, to disguise your white, grey, or pink stretch marks. This procedure tattoos the Dermis layer, which is the second layer of the skin, a layer that the sun never reaches.

So when you tan, this layer of your skin, the tattooed layer, will not be touched or changed by the sun. This means your stretch marks may appear lighter than your skin tone if your skin is more tanned than it was during treatment. So your skin will tan, but the camouflaged tattoos will not. But once your skin returns to its natural shade, it will once again match your tattoed stretch marks.
