How Korean Beauty Influenced the US

Korean beauty is a term used to describe beauty products and services derived from South Korea. In Korea, we can see the use of beauty from ancient times, dating as far back as 57bc, where you can see ancient murals of women wearing blush, thin eyebrows and hairdressing.   That being said, it's no wonder why Korean beauty has such a huge impact on the beauty industry, around the world, including the United States. And we still see some of the most popular beauty trends coming from Korea. Even in 2020 we see lots of gloss eyeshadow, glossy lips and gloss highlighter, all trends from Korea.   New Image Beauty Bar Owner, Alicia Shapira, has always been a huge fan of Korean Beauty. She said, "My dream is to go to Korea one day to learn more about all the incredible beauty techniques they have." And she even practices Korean beauty at her Beauty Bar. BB Glow, Hyaluron Pen and Fibroblast treatments are all services Shapira offers, and all services stemmed from Korean Beauty.   BB glow is a semi-permanent pigment that is placed on your skin to give you a glow and even skin tone. Fibroblast-Skin tightening treatment is NON-invasive or NON-surgical procedure where no scalpels or any surgical instruments are used. Hyaluron pen is a needle-free, handheld device that uses high pressure to “inject” hyaluronic acid fillers into the lips. There are no needles and no punctures. The pressure is so strong that it can push small amounts of hyaluronic acid fillers into the lips each time the device is used.   We can't wait to see what other beauty trends come from Korea and be sure to follow us on all social media @newimagebeautybar to see all of our amazing procedures and services offered at New Image Beauty Bar.

Fibroblast: Non-Surgical and Non-Invasive Skin Tightening

Fibroblast is the latest cosmetic treatment to reduce the volume of excess/sagging skin. Low risk, minimal downtime, and more affordable than surgery, Fibroblast is known for its success with non-surgical eye lifts, neck tightening, and much more. The treatment delivers results similar to surgery, with no scalpel, stitches or bandages and minimal downtime. It is a minimally invasive procedure with much lower risks and at a more affordable price than actual surgery. FibroBlast Plasma Therapy is a new non-surgical, non-invasive skin tightening procedure known to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and excess skin. The treatment is wildly popular among the beauty and aesthetic community, offering low-risk, minimal downtime, and is less invasive and less expensive than surgery.

How Does Plasma Fibroblast Work?

Plasma – an ionized gas is produced from the tip of the FibroBlast device. This creates a flash which evaporates superficially on the skin creating a tiny dot. We continue to strategically place tiny little dots around the procedure area – this is only on the surface of the skin causing it to retract. It works by shrinking and shortening the skin fibers which in turn lift and tighten the skin. Clients will notice results right away, although it takes 2-4 weeks for full effect to be visible. The elasticity of the skin is improved, and a distinctive tightening is made possible. Using a “plasma pen”, the FibroBlast treatment transmits an electrical current to the upper dermal layer of the skin, causing the tissue to retract and tighten. This micro-trauma supports the growth of new collagen and helps release active proteins and growth factors, giving the skin firmer, more youthful appearance. Plasma FibroBlast is more than a standard skin tightening procedure as the amount or volume of the skin is actually reduced. Results will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment and should last years with regular maintenance and upkeep (similar to more invasive procedures). FibroBlast is able to treat a number of skin conditions without the downtime or damage to the skin.

The Treatment Can Be Used For?

  • Eyelid Tightening including lower eyes and excess upper eyelid skin
  • Skin imperfections, skin tags, and sunspots
  • Improvement in the appearance of acne scars
  • Tightening loose belly skin after pregnancy
  • Lines and wrinkles around the mouth
  • Jowls and Neck Tightening
  • Knee Caps and Under Arms
  • Stretch Marks Large or Small

How Long Do Treatments Take/How Many Treatments Do I Need?

The number of treatments will vary depending on the area being treated, skin condition, age, level of exposure to sun damage, etc. Treatments typically take less than 30 minutes to complete, however, we allow up to 60 minutes per treatment to ensure patients are comfortable, the desired area is treated, and ample after-care cream is applied.

What to expect with Fibroblast: Skin-tightening Treatment

Fibroblast/Plasma Pen treatment is the only cosmetic treatment to use plasma to reduce the volume of excess skin on females and males. This treatment is low risk, has minimal downtime and more affordable than surgery. Fibroblast Treatment is known for its success with Non-Surgical Eye Lifts, Tummy Tightening, Neck Tightening and so much more.

Results are immediate! So a single session is often all you need, as all clients see results post-treatment. However, follow up treatments can be performed after 8-12 weeks if needed. The positive results should last you years depending on the area treated. The positive effects of treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, but the best results will be seen after 4 weeks.

Results and the required sessions can vary each client, as it depends on the aging of the skin, its decrease in elasticity and how deep the wrinkle lines are. You may experience a sensation similar to a sun burn which likely lasts a few hours. Swelling may intensify over the following few hours and more so when eyes are treated. This may last 2-3 days. The carbon crusts will lift within 5-12 days depending on the individual area treated.

WHAT ARE FIBROBLAST CELLS?

Fibroblasts are active cells in the dermis. Their function is to increase the productions of fibers, collagen and glycosaminoglycans.

The number and productivity of fibroblasts decline with age. Their density gradually begins to decrease and fibroblasts in connective tissue rarely undergo division. Small injuries from plasma stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elevates elastin levels.

WHAT DOES THE PLASMA PEN DO?

The Plasma pen ionizes gas in the air to create a small plasma flash. When the plasma touches the skin surface, the heat widens and is transferred into the epidermis all the way to the papillary layer which contains fibroblast cells. The skin then contracts and tightens, tones and lifts. Overall, this method activates healing, and this leads to the skin remodeling and improvement in various signs of aging.
