Today, she is an academy teacher and owner of New Image Beauty Bar. And, now, her beauty business has just undergone another change. She has moved to a new location in Coral Springs, the city where she grew up and lived in for almost three decades, before moving to Parkland. Previously located in the Target plaza on Wiles Road and US 441, New Image Beauty Bar moved in July to 7401 Wiles Rd in Suite #252 in the Whispering Woods Center—as Shapira sought a larger, more private space. New Image Beauty Bar offers a range of makeup, hair, body, and face services that include lash lift and tints, permanent makeup, hair simulation, and vitamin glow scar treatments. The beauty bar, as well as the academy Shapira runs, attracts clients and students from around the country and world, she said, especially because of their unique specializations. In addition to permanent makeup, fibroblast, and micro-needling, they also specialize in 3D areola repigmentation and Brazilian stretchmark and scar camouflaging. In fact, Shapira said she was proud to be the first person in the United States to be trained in the practice. Shapira learned to perform the procedure from its creator, Rodolpho Torres, from Brazil—now, she not only offers it to her clients but also trains others to do it. “People travel here from all over the world, from Singapore to Hawaii to the Netherlands, to travel and learn about [stretch mark camouflage],” she said. Despite her success, with the spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, threatening lives, and livelihoods, many small businesses, including hers, felt the consequences. “It was very scary. I didn’t know if we were all going to make it,” said Shapira. But, she’s adjusted—and the beauty bar currently sees one client at a time and operates by appointment to allow for teaching at the academy when they aren’t seeing clients. Now, she spends her days evenly split between teaching and seeing clients. “Being a teacher in this industry and seeing others succeed because of me is very cool,” she said. Mentoring is important to her, as is building relationships with clients. She also offers 3D areola repigmentation, and eyebrows, to former breast cancer patients for free. A service that can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars, repigmentation is often the final step in breast reconstruction for those with breast cancer. Shapira is happy to offer it at no cost, and as her own father is currently battling stomach cancer, it’s more near and dear to her heart than ever. “In October alone, I did between five and ten for free,” she said. Whatever clients come in for, she loves that people often leaving feeling better than they did when they walked in, and she’s passionate about adding to their confidence. Our Scar Lightening treatment is an amazing procedure that uses FDA approved vitamins to lighten dark colored scars. We commonly have patients with post surgery scarring or dark stretch marks that they are looking to disguise, and the results are amazing! This lightening treatment also creates the perfect canvas for our Brazilian Stretch Mark Camouflage procedure, that completely conceals the area, to match your exact skin tone. Camouflage can only be used on areas that are lighter than your skin tone, which is why our lightening treatment is the first step for those with dark colored scars or stretch marks. It's important to note, this procedure is using our own mix of FDA approved vitamins that have been tested over the years, to determine the perfect amount for optimal results. For those wanting this exact procedure with our results, you must visit us or one of our trained students who has the same treatment as us. Hyperpigmented, or dark colored, scars can be very difficult to work with and can take a lot of time and patience, this treatment can take anywhere from 1 to 6 treatments in total. The lightening treatment takes around 2 months to completely heal. During the healing process the scar will turn red and may even scab up, it's important to note, the area may look worse before it gets better. After 60 days the final results will show, this is when you are expected to return for a follow up to see if you will require more lightening treatments. As noted before, patience is key in this lightening procedure as it may take months and a series of treatments before the area is fully lightened. Watch Our YouTube video where Alicia treats Kathy Picos breast augmentation scars with our lightening treatment. This is her second session and the 3rd will be a 3D Areola Repigmentation treatment, to create the perfect areolas. NEW!! You're looking to get plump and filled lips, but not sure what's the best way to do this. Or maybe you're scared of needles and injections. Thankfully there are many options for those wanting plump lips, whether if it's with a lip plumping gloss to last you the night, injectable fillers or hyaluron pen, there is an option for everyone. So what exactly is the difference between a Hyaluron pen and traditional fillers? The Hyaluron Pen is an amazing treatment that deposits hyaluronic acid into the epidermal and upper layers of the skin, without the need of needles. This technology uses high pressure which causes the hyaluronic acid to turn into Nano Scale molecules that allow them to enter through the skin, without needles. The Hyaluron Pen can be used to improve the lips shape, lift and volume and can treat lips, nasolabial lines, marionette lines, 11 lines and forehead wrinkles. The same hyaluronic acid filler that are used in traditional injectables are the same products used during this treatment.
