What Happens If You Tan After Brazilian Stretch Mark Camouflage?

One of the most frequently asked questions we receive when talking about Brazilian Stretch Mark Camouflage is, what happens if my skin gets tan after my treatment?

Of course, this is an expected question, because the color used to camouflage your stretch marks is technically a permanent color. So does that mean the color will stay the same if the rest of you tans, or will they also tan with your skin now?

So here is the answer. We create a custom color to match your natural skin color, to disguise your white, grey, or pink stretch marks. This procedure tattoos the Dermis layer, which is the second layer of the skin, a layer that the sun never reaches.

So when you tan, this layer of your skin, the tattooed layer, will not be touched or changed by the sun. This means your stretch marks may appear lighter than your skin tone if your skin is more tanned than it was during treatment. So your skin will tan, but the camouflaged tattoos will not. But once your skin returns to its natural shade, it will once again match your tattoed stretch marks.

Stretch Mark Camouflage Procedure – What to Expect?

Here at New Image Beauty Bar, we have students and clients fly in from all over the world to undergo our Brazilian Stretch Mark Camouflage Procedure. This technique was brought to the United States by Alicia Shapira, and is now offered all over the US, by all of her hand-trained students! This procedure uses flesh-colored pigment to literally camouflage the stretch marks, making them blend into your natural skin tone. The healing process takes a few months and some patients may want a touchup after they are fully healed. One of the biggest questions we always have is what to expect with healing. You will see in the photos below, a patient before treatment and directly after. The stretch marks will appear red and swollen at first, but will subside within 72 hours after treatment. It is important to avoid sun exposure for the first 6 weeks after treatment and avoid sweating and vigourous exercise for the first few days.   The full healing process will take around 90 days. Take a look at these photos below which show a step by step healing process of a patient who underwent Brazilian Stretch Mark Camouflage for her thighs and buttocks. There will be a big change in the marks between 2 and 3 months, so we always ask our patients to wait the full 3 months to see final results.   This treatment can be used to treat any part of the body! Stretch marks can appear on the knees, back of the neck, arms, calves, you name it, we can treat it! To learn more feel free to contact us at New Image Beauty Bar!
