Alicia Shapira Featured on Shoutout Miami

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alicia Shapira and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alicia, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story? my son What should our readers know about your business? I’m Alicia Shapira the founder of New Image Beauty Bar. I am known for being the first in the US to offer Brazilian Stretch Mark and Scar Camouflage, Scar and Under Eye Lightening Treatment. I specialize in an FDA-approved Vitamin Scar Lightening Treatment that I created and perfected through countless hours of researching my techniques. I am definitely proud of being able to offer my clients treatments that truly boost their self-esteem, for themselves!

The path to my career was full of twists and turns. I actually started out as a full-time Speech Pathologist/Cognitive Trainer with two of my very own schools that I owned and operated. I enjoyed every minute with my patients at the time, but I just kept dreaming of a career change into the cosmetic industry. They say you can change your career at least 3 times in your life, the thought to have to go back to school and start over was very scary but also extremely exciting!

Once I graduated Esthetician School, I knew I was ready to start doing Permanent Makeup and open my own business immediately. I knew when I put that permanent makeup pen to my first client’s face, I had made the right decision and followed my passion. I have never looked back since!   New Image Beauty Bar has given me the opportunity to reach so many clients from all over the world. Our services are so unique that they capture the attention of many followers on social media, we’ve even gone viral with over 3.6 Million views on TikTok!

By Selene Raj Alicia Shapira is no stranger to change— about seven years ago, she was a speech-language pathologist who decided she wanted to walk down a new career path. Today, she is an academy teacher and owner of New Image Beauty Bar. And, now, her beauty business has just undergone another change. She has moved to a new location in Coral Springs, the city where she grew up and lived in for almost three decades, before moving to Parkland. Previously located in the Target plaza on Wiles Road and US 441, New Image Beauty Bar moved in July to 7401 Wiles Rd in Suite #252 in the Whispering Woods Center—as Shapira sought a larger, more private space. New Image Beauty Bar offers a range of makeup, hair, body, and face services that include lash lift and tints, permanent makeup, hair simulation, and vitamin glow scar treatments. The beauty bar, as well as the academy Shapira runs, attracts clients and students from around the country and world, she said, especially because of their unique specializations. In addition to permanent makeup, fibroblast, and micro-needling, they also specialize in 3D areola repigmentation and Brazilian stretchmark and scar camouflaging. In fact, Shapira said she was proud to be the first person in the United States to be trained in the practice. Shapira learned to perform the procedure from its creator, Rodolpho Torres, from Brazil—now, she not only offers it to her clients but also trains others to do it. “People travel here from all over the world, from Singapore to Hawaii to the Netherlands, to travel and learn about [stretch mark camouflage],” she said. Despite her success, with the spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, threatening lives, and livelihoods, many small businesses, including hers, felt the consequences. “It was very scary. I didn’t know if we were all going to make it,” said Shapira. But, she’s adjusted—and the beauty bar currently sees one client at a time and operates by appointment to allow for teaching at the academy when they aren’t seeing clients. Now, she spends her days evenly split between teaching and seeing clients. “Being a teacher in this industry and seeing others succeed because of me is very cool,” she said. Mentoring is important to her, as is building relationships with clients. She also offers 3D areola repigmentation, and eyebrows, to former breast cancer patients for free. A service that can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars, repigmentation is often the final step in breast reconstruction for those with breast cancer. Shapira is happy to offer it at no cost, and as her own father is currently battling stomach cancer, it’s more near and dear to her heart than ever. “In October alone, I did between five and ten for free,” she said. Whatever clients come in for, she loves that people often leaving feeling better than they did when they walked in, and she’s passionate about adding to their confidence.   Be Sure to check out more at Coral Springs talk.   Contact Alicia Shapira for more information: (954) 774-5087 alicia.newimagebeautybar@gmail.com 7401 Wiles Rd.   CORAL SPRINGS, FL – As Alicia Shapira tells it, magazine models, reality TV show celebrities, and other glamour queens trickle in and out of her beauty salon in a not-so-fashionable retail strip in Coral Springs. They come for her lash-lifts-and-tips, hair simulations, and a slew of other makeup and body services, but also to be part of Shapira’s growing fashionista stratosphere. Coral Springs is no South Beach or Wynwood when it comes to social media influencers, but Shapira and her New Image Beauty Bar on Wiles Road stand out for their presence on Instagram and TikTok, where she’s gotten more than 250,000 likes. “I treat my clients like family,” said Shapira, 42, who grew up in Coral Springs and now lives with her husband and two-year-old son in Parkland. Her path to running a salon is a story of changing professions, re-inventing herself after a catastrophic accident, and following a childhood love of glamour and art. Shapira is a fast-talking businesswoman who is in constant motion. As her brand has grown, she’s no longer just applying makeup and getting women ready for big occasions in their lives. Shapira is also making a name for herself as an educator in the beauty services industry and in the world of microblading, permanent makeup, and a procedure called Brazilian Stretch Mark Camouflage, which uses pigment to hide stretch marks. She said her treatment is drawing clients from all parts of the world. Her salon offers free re-pigmentation and permanent eyebrows services to cancer survivors, she said. “It’s amazing to see how people react after our procedures,” she said last week, pausing to instruct her staff member on a client appointment. “They are so happy.” She found her calling in life after ending a short career as a speech therapist and before that a financial manager. She grew up attending Ramblewood Middle School and J.P. Taravella High School, and remembers, as a teenager, enjoying applying makeup on friends and being intrigued with the beauty and fashion industries. But her vision crystallized following a fall in a store when she was 30 and newly married. Her injuries required hospitalization, surgeries, and intensive physical therapy. She was in a wheelchair. “I thought my life was over. I thought I’d never walk again,” she said. “I did a lot of thinking and I changed my life and did something more fulfilling.” Eventually, she got better, put her energy into opening New Image Beauty Bar, and used her marketing talents to grow the business and catch the attention of the right clients. Shapira envisions opening another salon in Miami early next year and continuing to travel across the nation and to other countries to train others in beauty services. “My life has gone in such a good direction,” she said. “I just want to help people feel happy.”   Be sure to check out More on Tap Into Coral Springs.   Contact Alicia Shapira for more information: (954) 774-5087 alicia.newimagebeautybar@gmail.com 7401 Wiles Rd. The Healing Process of Brazilian Stretch Mark & Scar Camouflage

Healing time and instructions are always a very important topic to discuss when it comes to Brazilian Stretch Mark and Scar Camouflage. If a patient does not follow the proper aftercare it can lead to longer healing time and possibly a higher need for touch-ups down the road.

AFTERCARE

It's very important to follow the proper aftercare instructions with both of these procedures. If they are followed, you should find your healing time much quicker. But if you do not follow proper instructions, you run the risk of getting your skin inflamed and slowing down the healing process. For example, if you go to a pool, beach, sauna or sweat excessively too soon, you put your results at risk. At the end of the day, most people have had stretch marks their whole life, so taking a few weeks to treat the area properly is totally worth the beautiful result at the end! This treatment is a miracle, and Alicia Shapira is a magician! So for those who have dealt with stretch marks for 10,20,30 years, this wait is nothing! Just because you may not see results after the first session, does not mean it won't work.

HEALING PROCESS

It takes, on average, 60-120 days for Brazilian Stretch Mark and Scar Camouflage clients to fully heal.

Most Common Factors That Effect the Healing Process

  • Diet
  • Vitamins
  • Prescription Medications
  • Skin Type
  • Ethnicity
  • If your skin has the tendency to hyper pigment
Take a look at this 90-day healing process below. You will notice the stretch marks will appear dark and red for several weeks before they are camouflaged to the skin. It's important to be patient with this treatment and always listen to your aftercare instructions, to ensure a beautiful result.   All of our clients return for a follow up 60-90 days after, this is to see if there is any need for a touchup. And usually, 40% of clients will want/need 1-3 more sessions. And the results are permanent!   If you have darker skin, you are less likely to need a touchup. And sometimes it may only be a few stretch marks that need a touchup, during your follow up appointment. It's important to understand all of our bodies are unique, which means the healing process may look a little different for all of us. So patience and responsibility will lead to an amazing result to last you a lifetime!   Be sure to follow our social media's at @newimagebeautybar for more information!

Vampire Facial Ranked by Dermatologists One of the Best Anti-Aging Treatments

Ever since Kim Kardashian West posted pictures of her face following her Vampire Facial treatment on social media, a buzz was created in a matter of minutes. The somewhat-scary image showed her bloody face, which made millions of women intrigued by the procedure. Even though the Vampire Facial came onto the market a few years ago, it’s showing no signs of becoming a thing of the past. The facial, which is technically a Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment, is, according to some skin care experts one of the best anti-aging procedures out there. The platelets come from your own blood when tiny needle punctures are made in your face. The PRP solution is then used in tandem with micro needling, creating hundreds of microscopic holes in the skin. Unlike other beauty treatments and skin saviors, the Vampire Facial harnesses your body’s natural healing power. “It contains several growth factors and cytokines that repair and regenerate tissue,” says plastic surgeon Juan Carlos Fuentes, MD, “the treatment leaves skin smoother and more even in color.” While your face will look red, swollen and bloody immediately after the treatment, which will last a few hours to up to three days after, the results (you’ll see glowing skin immediately) but it can take a month or so for the full results, which last about three months, to surface. It provides for cellular rejuvenation that are unparalleled because it shortens healing time and stimulates collagen.

Turns out, this once "scary" procedure may actually unlock the answers to many more beauty problems than we ever realized it could.
